Quinoa falafel recipe
Revisit falafel with quinoa, you will love this simple, effective and super easy recipe to make at home! You can accompany them with a yoghurt and lemon sauce for a successful aperitif.
Falafels, originally from Lebanon, are small bites generally made from chickpeas but you can vary the pleasures with original recipes! We had already offered you a version with terribly greedy sweet potato. Today, we’re back with a new recipe to share (or not) at happy hour: quinoa falafel! They are served with a generous sauce or placed on a salad for a complete and balanced dish. You will see, this recipe is really super easy to make at home!
Recipe Quinoa falafels
Ingredients
- 200g quinoa
- 1 C. cornstarch
- 80 ml vegetable milk
- 1/2 onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- 40g chickpea flour
- 1 C. ground coriander
- 1 C. cumin powder
- salt pepper
- 2 tbsp. chopped parsley
- Frying oil
Preparation

Cook quinoa according to package instructions. Drain and pour into a salad bowl.

Mix cornstarch with milk to thin.

In the salad bowl, add the finely chopped onion and the minced garlic clove. Add the chickpea flour, spices and cornstarch/milk mixture.

Salt, pepper, add the chopped parsley and mix well with your hands until the texture is “sticky”.

Form balls and fry them in very hot frying oil. The falafels should be golden brown.

Drain on absorbent paper to remove excess oil and enjoy!
